How does a heat pump work in winter? Introduction of 3 modes of heat pump heating in winter

In winter, the air source heat pump is used for heating. Now there are three common air source heating methods on the market. Power World will tell you about the advantages and applications of each mode.

1. Air source heat pump host + fan coil heating system

Fan coil units generally use concealed ceilings, which do not take up space in the living area, save space than surface-mounted heat sinks, and have a mild air outlet, which is not as dry and uncomfortable as the hot air blown by conventional air conditioners or electric heaters. The thermal efficiency is high, and the heating can reach the set temperature in a short time. Since the hot water temperature is around 45°C, the efficiency of the air source heat pump is very high. If the heating/cooling air source heat pump unit is installed, it can also replace the central air conditioner to achieve cooling in summer.

Application: Suitable for discontinuous and intermittent heating users. For example: business companies, hotels, offices, etc.

2. Air source heat pump host + floor heating heating system

This is now generally considered the most comfortable heating method for families. The heating temperature in the house is uniform, and the heating starts to rise from the soles of the feet. Because the hot water temperature required for floor heating is generally around 40 °C, the efficiency of the air source heat pump is higher when the hot water temperature is around 45 °C.

Application: It is suitable for users who need continuous heating in the house and high requirements for heating comfort. For example: hotels, villas.

3. Air source heat pump host + radiator heating system

This solution is generally less used, because the hot water temperature required by the radiator is basically above 55 °C, but the higher the hot water temperature, the lower the efficiency of the air source heat pump, because the temperature in winter is inherently very low, It makes it more difficult for the heat pump to obtain heat from the air, the energy efficiency of the heat pump will be greatly reduced, and the energy consumption of the equipment will be greatly increased. However, the radiator is hot as soon as it is turned on, and the temperature rises quickly; it is easy to install and is not affected by the ground.

Applicable places: It is suitable for users who have good indoor and outdoor thermal insulation effect and cannot install floor heating or fans after renovation or decoration of old houses.

Keep these points in mind when using an air source heat pump at low temperatures in winter

Too low temperature will affect the efficiency of the air source heat pump, and in the low temperature environment in winter, the air source heat pump is prone to freezing and other conditions. Therefore, the correct use of air source heat pumps is the key to ensuring that users enjoy warm hot water and comfortable temperatures. When using an air source heat pump in winter, pay attention to the following points.

1. When the ambient temperature reaches the freezing point, the water temperature of the air source heat pump will drop faster. If the hot water pipe and the return pipe are not insulated, the heat consumption will be accelerated. Therefore, in winter, it is particularly important to wear a layer of "clothing" for the air source pipeline, which can effectively inhibit the decrease of water temperature. Experiments have shown that when the insulation thickness of the water tank is 50mm, the hot water in the tank will cool down by about 10°C in 12 hours under the environment of 0-5°C; when the insulation thickness is 100mm, the temperature of the environment will not exceed 3°C for 12 hours. The outer layer is made of 0.3MM thick aluminum foil and sealed with stainless steel screws. Strengthening the thermal insulation and reducing the temperature drop of the hot water is equivalent to improving the operating efficiency of the host and reducing the operating time.

2. When the air source heat pump is used in winter, the temperature will be too low, and it will freeze. If it is not used for a long time, it is best to shut down the unit, but do not turn off the power, because the air source heat pump itself has its own antifreeze. Protection measures, if the power is cut off, the air source heat pump will not be able to protect itself. The correct method should be to set the set temperature of the unit to the lowest level when it does not need air source to work, so that the unit can ensure the antifreeze function to work, so as to effectively solve the problem of energy waste and antifreeze of the unit. If not in use, be sure to drain the water from the system. In this way, it is possible to avoid freezing damage to pipes and mainframes due to low temperatures.

3. Check the frosting situation. In the cold winter, the air source heat pump often has frosting, which is a normal phenomenon. Frost on the heat pump will reduce the heating capacity and increase the energy consumption. If the main engine is started before the frost is completely melted, the main engine will freeze, and the more the frost is, the more it will enter a vicious circle, which will cause the main engine to fail to work normally. Air source heat pump products have automatic frost function to ensure the normal operation of the unit.
