Can a heat pump freeze up? How to prevent the air source heat pump from freezing in winter?

At present, air source heat pumps can be used in ultra-low temperature environments, but if used improperly in winter, there is still a risk of being frozen. So, how to use the air source heat pump in winter to prevent it from being frozen?

1: Avoid power outages

When the temperature is very low in winter, if the air source heat pump unit is powered off, the water temperature will freeze after cooling down, causing the heat exchanger to freeze and crack. Especially when the fluorine circuit system and the water circuit system are frozen at the same time, when the compressor is restarted after power-on, the compressor will directly suck the water in the external water circuit into the fluorine system, causing the entire unit to be scrapped. Therefore, when using the air source heat pump in winter, do not cut off the power. If the power must be cut off, the water in the unit, pipeline and pump should also be drained.

2: Do a good job of pipe insulation

Pipeline insulation is very important in winter, because the outside temperature is too low. If there is no insulation, the hot water will drop a lot of degrees instantly after passing through the pipeline, so it is difficult to reach the set temperature. In addition, when connecting the pipe sleeve to the pipe sleeve, thermal insulation glue must be applied to the end face (circumferential seam) of the pipe sleeve. The longitudinal seam of the pipe sleeve should be staggered, and the longitudinal seam should not be vertically downward. Seal the seams with glue in between.

3: The condensed water should be cleaned regularly

When the air source heat pump is started, condensed water will be discharged. In winter, the outdoor temperature is very low, and the condensed water will freeze when it is discharged, thereby freezing the drain pipe. Therefore, it should be cleaned up in time after the condensed water is found to be frozen and accumulated. In addition, the host should not be too low from the ground. If the ice and snow are serious, it is better to be above 50 cm.

4: Clean the snow around the air heat pump in time

The air source heat pump mainly absorbs the heat in the air for heating. It is very important to maintain ventilation. Although the temperature is low in winter, there is also heat. If the air source heat pump unit is surrounded by snow, it will affect the heating effect, so it should be cleaned in time
